II Child-Teacher Relationship Training

Supporting children, parents & educators

Gentle, evidenced-based therapy that meets children where they are and fosters long-term growth and healing.

Why Child Centred Play Therapy?

Children are not only naturally drawn to play – it is central to and necessary for every aspect of their development. Child Centred Play Therapy is the developmentally appropriate way for children to make sense of their experiences and express their feelings in a safe and secure space, defined by connection with and underpinned by the therapist’s “Be With” attitudes and genuine, unconditional positive regard.

Lighthouse Play Therapy is proud to offer the services of a caring, qualified, registered and experienced Child Centred Play Therapist, with a wealth of knowledge and decades of experience from a background in teaching (registered and specialising in Early Childhood), as well as qualifications and experience from many years of working directly with at risk children and families.

Services We Offer

Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT)

Child Centred Play Therapy supports children experiencing behavioural challenges and issues such as anxiety and trauma. With freedom to express themselves through play, children can work through emotions, with the benefits of improved self-esteem, better emotional regulation, enhanced coping strategies, and resilience.
Lighthouse Play Therapy, Training & Consulting currently has sessions available for mobile CCPT in the Hervey Bay region.

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT)

CPRT supports parents in learning the basic skills of play therapy within a ten-week program. CPRT provides opportunities for parents to develop and practice skills at home with their child. Strengthening the parent-child relationship in this way provides benefits including reduced parental stress, increased understanding and empathy towards your child, enhanced emotional regulation, and a more supportive home environment.
CPRT is also suitable for other primary carers, such as foster or kinship carers.
Lighthouse Play Therapy, Training & Consulting currently has sessions available for CPRT in the Hervey Bay region, and welcomes enquiries for program delivery from other locations.

Child Teacher Relationship Training (CTRT)

Evidence shows that secure attachments are crucial to higher academic outcomes. By fostering secure attachments in the educational setting, CTRT improves student outcomes as a result of better emotional regulation, higher academic engagement and reduced behavioural issues – and teachers and educators are more likely to view themselves as competent and successful.
Delivery of CTRT can be tailored according to availability and schedules within the educational setting, and aligns with the priority areas of Kindy Uplift, and the Thriving Kids focus area of delivery of support in “Everyday Settings.”
Lighthouse Play Therapy, Training and Consulting currently has availability for delivery of CTRT in the Hervey Bay region, and welcomes enquiries for program delivery from other locations.
