Child-Centred Play Therapy

$180 per hour

(10% discount available for upfront payment of five or more sessions)

Sessions available for:

- NDIS clients (plan or self-managed)

- private, self-funded clients

- Government or non-government referrals

Intake Session - 1.5hrs ($270)

The Intake Session is the first session before play therapy commences, allowing for one hour of consultation between parents/caregivers and the therapist, and the remaining 30 minutes for the therapist to attend to record-keeping and planning. It provides parents/caregivers and the therapist to discuss concerns, and the therapist an opportunity to gain an understanding of what is happening or impacting the child. It is from this that initial goals of therapy are identified, as well at frequency of sessions.

It is only parents/caregivers and the therapist who attend this initial session. This session can be conducted in person or by telephone.

Mobile Child-Centred Play Therapy Sessions ($180)

These sessions attract a minimum of the full hourly fee, and allow 45 minutes for the child with the therapist, with the remaining 15 minutes for the therapist to attend to case notes and other tasks, such as packing up the playroom/toys (sometimes things get really messy!)

As a mobile service, an additional travel cost may be required depending on geographical location, and can be negotiated prior to or during initial Intake Session.

Update Sessions 1.5hrs ($270)

These sessions are scheduled between the therapist and parents/caregivers after every five to six play therapy sessions, for the opportunity to discuss the child’s progress both in the playroom, at home and other environments (eg school or daycare). Based on information from parents/caregivers and the therapist, the Update Session gives a chance to review and make updates, if required, to the initial goals and goals going forward.

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy

$180 per hour (individual sessions)

(10% discount offered for upfront payment of all ten sessions.

Rate upon enquiry for small groups up to four participants.)

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy is a ten-week program of hourly sessions that provides parents with the opportunity to learn and practise the basic skills that the therapist uses in the playroom.

Although Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) provides consistency and predictability in adult-child interactions for children already engaged in Child-Centred Play Therapy, CPRT is available to any parents/caregivers, either with or without a child attending play therapy, as these skills are nonetheless effective when learned and routinely applied.
