Hello and welcome!

I’m Nettie, qualified and Play Therapy Practitioners Association (PTPA) registered play therapist based in Hervey Bay.

After delivering child-centred play therapy and child-parent relationship training as a sub-contractor in a local service, I am thrilled to now be practising independently as the owner/operator of Lighthouse Play Therapy, Training & Consulting.

I am also a qualified and registered teacher specialising in Early Childhood, with experience spanning over 20 years in P-3, primary schools, and long day care in Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Townsville, and have over seven years of experience working with and delivering services to at-risk children and families in Mt Isa, Emerald and Hervey Bay.

With my extensive experience, and as a parent to four (now adult) children of my own, I understand the importance of developmentally appropriate, timely and effective intervention to children exhibiting challenging behaviour within the home and educational settings, and the impact that complementary support can have for parents, carers and teachers/educators.

I am passionate and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children, both directly and in collaboration with parents, teachers, educators and other Allied Health services. I am so excited to be able to put into practice all my experience and training, to make available a holistic approach to support and intervention, offering mobile Child-Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) service within the Hervey Bay area, as well as support and training for parents (Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, or CPRT), and a program of training to teachers and educators – Child-Teacher Relationship Therapy (CTRT).
